The EU could “respond swiftly and decisively” in response to what it calls “unjustified” visa bans imposed by the United States against five Europeans working on combating online hate and misinformation, an EU official has said.

European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’

Officials from Europe such as Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “bullying and threats”, following the travel bans were placed on figures that were central to campaigns to enact laws regulating US-based technology firms.
